Goalball is a paralympic sport. Imagine a silent arena; the only sounds are the soft shuffle of feet and the faint jingling of bells. The tension is palpable as two teams of visually impaired athletes prepare for the next play in the thrilling sport of goalball. The referee blows the whistle, and the game is on! The ball, embedded with bells, is hurled down the court with incredible speed. The defending team listens intently, their senses heightened, as they track the ball's movement purely by sound. In a synchronized dive, they stretch their bodies across the floor, blocking the ball with a thud. The ball is quickly retrieved, and now it's the defenders' turn to attack. We are starting goalball in San Diego. Come and learn and play. Maybe a gold medal at the 2028 L.A. Paralympic games!

Hello Everyone,
Thank you to all the 27 people who came to our 1st Goalball Orientation/Practice/Game a couple weeks ago. Some pictures are attached. What an amazing time and we look forward to our next Practice/Games on Sunday, April 6th starting at 1:30 P.M. at Stagecoach Community Park (Gym) at 3420 Camino de Los Coches, Carlsbad, 92009. We want to thank our coaches, Matt Boyle and Lex Gillette for their excellent instruction and training. Their guidance is opening a door to teach us a sport where blind, visually impaired and sighted individuals can participate in a recreational and competitive sport together. So fun!
We want to invite all of you including your families/friends to the San Diego County Goalball Kickoff Party, which will start right after the Practice/Games at 3:00 PM. We have reserved the Picnic Area right next to the Stagecoach Gym. You will only have to walk a few feet from the Gym to the gathering, where there are tables, benches and a patio covering. We’ll be having pizza, salad, and drinks. If you would like, feel free to bring a dessert or snack to share. To make sure we have enough food and drinks, please RSVP to this email and state your name and the number of people who will be coming.

Our 1st San Diego County Goalball Orientation/Practice was amazing. Thanks to the 27 people who came and especially to Matt Boyle who led us and Lex Gillette for your guidance too. The first meeting is on Sunday, March 16th, 2025, at 1:30 pm at the Stagecoach Park Community Center gym, located at 3420 Camino de los Coches, Carlsbad, CA. 92009.
After that, all games are on the first Sunday of each month from 1:30-3:00 p.m., also at Stagecoach Park.
